Snap a photo. Add a label. Drop a pin. The simplest way to never forget where you put the ski gloves, the spare keys, or the Christmas decorations again.
Coming soon. Built in the UK. No ads, no trackers.
Open the app, snap, label, save. Your GPS pin is captured automatically.
Find by name, category, or what you typed in your notes. No more digging through boxes.
See every item you've ever stored on a single map. Long-press to drop a pin anywhere.
Garage, Kitchen, Attic, Storage Unit β or roll your own.
"Third box from the left, top shelf." A small detail today, a saved Saturday in six months.
Optional. Keeps a copy in your phone's gallery so photos survive uninstalling.
Wheresit is built privacy-first. We can't see your photos. We literally don't have them.
Photos, photo files, and your sign-in token. We don't have copies on our servers. Ever.
Your email + hashed password. Optional: item labels, categories, GPS pins, notes β so they follow you to a new phone.
Export your data, erase your backup, or delete your account β all from inside the app.
Correct β by design. Item photos are written to a private folder on your device and the file path stays on the device. The Wheresit backend has no photo upload endpoint, so there's no place for them to go even if a bug occurred. Read the full Privacy Policy for the architecture details.
The operating system deletes the photos along with the app. Your account, labels, categories and GPS pins stay safe on our servers. The first time you sign in on a new device they reappear, but you'll see placeholder colour swatches where photos used to be. Turn on Save to camera roll in Settings to keep photo copies in your phone's gallery β those survive uninstall.
Free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no premium tier (at launch).
Not yet. We may add household sharing once we hear from enough users that they want it. Email us if that'd be useful.
Initially the UK, with a UK-only payment processor. We'll expand once we've stress-tested the basics.
